I am a NLPtCA Accredited Psychotherapist (Dip. NLPt) and a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, an Accredited Hypnotherapist and Approved Supervisor with the National Hypnotherapy Society and Reg Member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, counsellor and coach in private practice, based in Ilkley, with occasionally offering sessions in Harrogate.
Working with a wide range of people, with differing issues, I support and enable them through the many kinds of challenges life can bring both in our personal and professional lives. It can be a big decision to invest in yourself……..
…….underpinning my approach is an unconditional positive regard for people with whom I work. I passionately believe that people have capacity to change, but may need some guidance and help on how to do it. After careful listening to what your issue or desired outcome is, to help you get the best result I may use an integrated approach using psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and NLP. This means that we work at a pace and in a way that is most beneficial to you.
It is never to late to grow. Psychotherapy that can help us change a life is as much for the person in their 60`s, 70`s 80`s, as it is for those in their 20`s, 30`s, 40`s or 50`s.
I am a Board Member (Director) of the Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (NLPtCA) – a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy- and a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and General Hypnotherapy Register and Accredited Registrant and Approved Supervisor with The National Hypnotherapy Society
Fully aware of and complying with the Codes of Ethics of all the above organisations I take great store in the importance, as a therapist, that I attend regular supervision. I am registered with the Information Commissioner`s Office and DBS checked.
I also have experience of working on a part-time basis: at the Therapy Department of Cygnet Hospital, Harrogate (provider of NHS Acute Inpatient Services and Private Mental Health Services) delivering group sessions for inpatients; at Candlelighters children’s cancer charity with parents, grand parents and adult former patients; and I am a past Therapist Practitioner `Approved by ANXIETY UK` , the Anxiety Disorders Charity.
My previous background – I have extensive experience in the area of executive and management coaching and training, helping people individually and in organisations deal more effectively with `change` and the challenges it can bring; leadership development; improving personal and team effectiveness; executive coaching in many types and sizes of organisations. I can also draw upon personal experience in senior executive positions in FSTE 100 companies.
