What is Hypnosis? For thousands of years people have acknowledged that we can have altered states of awareness. Hypnosis is widely accepted as a beneficial psychological therapy which can help with emotional, behavioural and physical problems that someone is finding hard to cope with.

Hypnosis is a way of helping you to feel very relaxed and to respond to suggestions and ideas that are going to help you.

It is a different state of consciousness from being awake or asleep. A relaxed state of hypnosis has been compared to daydreaming by many people.

It is important to remember that you are always in control and can do anything to help yourself feel more comfortable perhaps a cough or a shift in position. At any time you can end the session of hypnosis. There is no way you can “get stuck” in trance.
